War Is Coming by gustavoahlen War Is Coming by gustavoahlen
This is a design that I have done as a gift to all Star Wars fans.
Firstly I worked in the procedural terrain trying to get a good erosion in the rocks and after this I have created a list of personal materials to test what was the best way to do it. Clone troopers as the well-known spaceship called "Destroyer star" were made on 3Ds Max 2013 and I then added these objects on Vue.
Commonly my personal works are created on 3Ds Max or Cinema 4D, but I like to test different environments to get a good atmosphere. I have tested a few of environments with a high quality of photons as well as particles of dust. In this case I have used Global illumination as rendering engine, but if I had used radiosity this will increase drastically the resolution of this environment, because it has a better calculation of atmosphere reflections, indirect illumination, ambient, etc. but I prefer to use GI because I have considered I got a good environment talking about lighting.

Hope you like it. You are welcome to comment, like or share it (Make constructive comments. Offensive comments will be reported)

Love the environment shadowing and sky blending! That Star Destroyer's looking pretty ominous...

have to agree with the comments on the stormtroopers. placement doesn't really work. the overall scale of the landscape and the stardestroyer works rather good though.

yes, that is so easy to change, but I liked. I need to resize them. In my next designs I will cosider all the objects using a real scale.

Way cool image, but can stardestroyers get that close to planet side? After all, they are beastly huge hehe.

Very nice composition. The lighting is great, so is the clarity and perspective. You certainly capture the scale they always showed in Star Wars. Nicely done.

Thanks. I have considered about the destroyer star has an average length of 1.600 km.
Length 1,600 meters (5,200 ft)
Width 1,015 meters (3,330 ft)

The scale of this is just so incredible, although I am not very impressed with the clone-trooper's placement. All and all though, very awesome, I am gonna share this ;]
